Biography:

Whiplash Mk II, portrayed by Mickey Rourke, is the main antagonist in the Marvel Cinematic Universe film Iron Man 2 (2010). His first appearance is within this film.

The character's real name is Ivan Vanko, a Russian physicist and engineer. He seeks revenge on Tony Stark and the Stark family, believing they stole his father's work and legacy related to arc reactor technology.

Whiplash utilizes his own version of arc reactor technology to power electrified whips, which he uses as weapons. He builds his first Whiplash suit and later upgrades it into the Mk II armor, increasing his destructive capabilities.

Vanko's ultimate goal is to discredit Iron Man and prove his technological superiority. This is accomplished through sabotaging Stark Industries events, as well as attacking Tony directly. He's depicted as intelligent and ruthless, driven by resentment and a desire for retribution.
